This is the classic recipe my family has on Thanksgiving. Every year, this is the recipe we bring to the table. It is absolutely delicious. I even remeber my grandfather saying, "This is the greatest casserole I've ever tasted." It is a family favorite at Thanksgiving.
Tips, Tricks, and Substitutions:
| Ingredients: 5 sweet potatoes, 4 cups brown sugar, 1 stick butter, 1 tbsp salt |
| Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit |
| Step 2: Peel of the skin of the sweet potatoes |
| Step 3: Mash sweet potatoes in a bowl until there are zero clumps |
| Step 4: Add salt to the sweet potatoes and mix |
| Step 5: Spread out the sweet potatoes on a tray, make sure it covers the whole tray |
| Step 6: Melt the butter |
| Step 7: In a bowl, add the brown sugar and the butter |
| Step 8: Mix the two until there is no more butter |
| Step 9: Make crumbles of brown sugar and plate on top of the sweet potatoes |
| Step 10: Bake in the oven for about 40 mintes |
| Step 11: Take out of the oven and enjoy! |
